So today I got to my us airways flight at laguardia about 45 min early with my carry on that I have used for 5 years.

My wife and I were not seated together so we chose to pay an additional $20 ($10 each) for preferred WINDOW seats closer to each other.

I was 4 minutes late for boarding to the gate in SanFrancisco. Six minutes before scheduled departure. The plane was still there, but I was not allowed to board.
45 minutes or else!
